Well, Hello There!  You must be our new Commanding Officer.  Come to meet the crew?
You Lot!  Front and Center!  Now!

Still a bit of a mess in Sickbay, hardware-wise.  Everythin's functional, but we're still calibrating.
But the Brig's all ready.
Brig?
Oh, yeah.  Medical deparment is responsible for Security on this class ship.  Helps if the inept guard is able to distinguish between appendicitis and overacting.

S' anyway, I've got two crewmen with bilogical ancestry, so they get a Free Pass on the Turing Test...
And two Medical Support Robots that couldn't pass a Turing Test if you gave them the answers.

MSRs?  Weren't they retired
when the EMHs came out?
Ever duck behind a hologram when the bullets were flying?  It has all the advantages of cover except actual cover.

Are they...armed?
It's a special built medical tricorder.

Medical tricorders with settings for Stun, Kill and Secure the Perimeter?
They do have security responsibilities, too.

Medical Chief Vark manages Sickbay, but has additional security training.
And Security Chief Fox runs the Brig when she isn't tramatizing patients in the trauma center.

Right.  You've seen The Man.  You'll probably see him again when he gets a chance to risk life and limb for the safety of the galaxy.  Back to work.
So, Captain, should a doctor try to fix everything that's wrong in a patient, or it is better to just assist the body's natural healing process?

I, um, that would depend on...
And what are the three benchmarks of health common to almost all  humanoid life forms?

Life, liberty, happiness?
And what are the key contraindications against the use of Pegnaflourazine?

First I'd check the shelf life...
So, Captain, as the guy that sits in the big chair, one might assume that you've got a handle on how to drive the ship, how to talk to robots, and when to use phrases like "life...but not as we know it?"

Ah.  You're trying to make the point that I don't really have the expertise to micromanage in Sickbay?  Hoping I'll recognize my limitations and leave you to minister to the lame, sick and halt without jostling your elbow or anything?

Well, if the gravity boot fits..
Bullpucky.

I'm the commanding officer of the ship.  I'm responsible for the actions of anyone under my command.  I may not know if you should use the #3 or #5 scalpel, but I need to be kept aprised of your progress and certain decisions which have extra-operating room repercusions are mostly going to be mine to make.
Capice?

Um, Kappitch.
Captain, if you're through calibrating the Doctor, Admiral Tower's shuttle is arriving, with our last expected crewmen.

Alright, let's have all hands muster on the Shuttle deck.
